Tan Zhi Ming specialises in local and international banking and finance. He is experienced in acting for financial institutions and corporate borrowers, with especial proficiency in property development finance, acquisition finance, project finance, trade finance and assets-backed finance. Many of his transactions have involved cross-broader arrangements with considerable dealings with assets based in Indonesia and Malaysia. He also has extensive experience in handling security documentation such as mortgages, debentures, charges, assignments, guarantees, subordination deeds and security sharing deeds.
- Acting for lenders in relation to the S$375 acquisition of Kinex mall in Tanjong Katong;
- Acting for a financial institution in relation to the project financing for the turn-key project development of a cogeneration power plant in Indonesia which involves taking collateral from a consortium of Indonesian contractors as well as assets relating to the power plant;
- Acting for Malayan Banking Berhad, Singapore Branch in relation to the financing of Woh Seng Holdings Pte Ltd’s acquisition of shares in Cheung Woh Technologies Ltd by way of a voluntary conditional offer;
- Acting for the lender in connection with banking facilities granted to a joint venture borrower for the acquisition and development of the first integrated foreign worker accommodation and training centre in Singapore which involves taking security over an unregistered lease relating to a JTC property; and
- Acting for the financial institution in its capacity as lender, agent and security agent in relation to the S$500 million facilities granted to a Singapore incorporated company for the acquisition of a commercial and retail property located within Singapore’s prime shopping belt for redevelopment into a mixed use commercial development.
