Our Asset & Wealth Management Practice is a leading specialised practice supporting the investment funds industry. The team has an established track record in both retail and restricted schemes across the full spectrum of fund types, assets and strategies. We act for fund general partners, limited partners/investors, family offices and sovereign wealth funds, delivering regulatory and transactional support from licence applications with the Monetary Authority of Singapore, fund formation and distribution, deployment of fundraising proceeds, to developing and implementing exit strategies. The team also has strong Mandarin capabilities and extensive experience in the Chinese market and is fully adept at supporting clients with market-specific insights and solutions.
Retail Funds
We act as a trusted legal counsel to trustees and managers across the lifecycle of retail funds, providing regulatory and documentation support from fund launch, authorisation (local funds) and/or recognition (foreign funds) to transactional matters such as fund updates, amalgamations, switching and termination.
REITs
We act as legal counsel on REITs formation and SGX listings, and all related legal documentation and regulatory support across a wide range of routine and non-routine matters including financing, acquisition, divestment, REIT mergers and restructuring.
We have been involved in the REITs space since the inception of Singapore REITs in 2002 and have advised on a majority of listed REITs.
Private/Alternative Funds
We act as legal counsel on the fund’s formation in Singapore, Cayman Islands and Luxembourg, covering a variety of fund types including hedge funds, private equity funds, venture capital funds, real estate funds, private credit funds and specialist funds. On the transactional front, we lead, structure and draft all legal documentation including the private placement memorandum, investment management agreement, investor side letters and fund constitutional documents.
With our deep regulatory expertise, we guide independent asset managers, external asset managers, multi-family offices and single-family offices in licensing and other applications, such as Capital Markets Services Licence applications and tax incentives under Section 13O and Section 13U of the Income Tax Act 1947.
Additionally, we are pioneers in the Variable Capital Company funds space, successfully launching over 200 VCC funds as of May 2026 – a testament to our dominance in Singapore’s vibrant fund ecosystem.
