Shaun Woo is a partner with Shook Lin & Bok’s Banking & Finance practice. He regularly advises local and international financial institutions, corporates, and sponsors on a wide range of financing transactions, including acquisition, real estate, development, and working capital financing. His work spans both bilateral and syndicated structures and frequently involves cross-border elements across the Asia-Pacific region.

Matter Experience


  • Acted for a syndicate of banks in the extension of over S$800 million facilities to a prominent local property developer in connection with its acquisition of a government land sale site for development into a large-scale private residential development;
  • Represented the lender in the extension of S$465 million term loans to a subsidiary of the Kuok Group in connection with its acquisition of a property holding company. The property acquired is a commercial development comprising two towers and located at 78 Shenton Way, within Singapore’s central business district;
  • Acted for a major Japanese lender in connection with a S$235 million facility for the share acquisition of a property holding company and refurbishment of a commercial building in Singapore’s central business district by the Singapore arm of a major Japanese real estate developer;
  • Acted for a Japanese bank in relation to a S$188 million financing of the property acquisition and development of a hotel in Singapore’s Downtown Core;
  • Acted for a major local bank in connection with the S$144 million financing of a land acquisition and construction of an industrial development by a Singapore developer;
  • Acted for a syndicate of banks in the extension of US$150 million sustainability-linked facilities to an SGX-listed leading palm oil producer incorporated in Singapore;
  • Acted for Woh Seng Holdings Pte. Ltd. in the financing of its voluntary general offer and squeeze-out of SGX-listed Cheung Woh Technologies Ltd;
  • Acted for TAL United Pte. Ltd. in connection with the financing of its voluntary unconditional offer and squeeze-out of SGX-listed Sin Heng Heavy Machinery Limited;
  • Acted for the Singapore branch of a Malaysian bank in the grant of S$125 million working capital term facilities to a Singapore-incorporated borrower, secured by assets in both Singapore and Malaysia;
  • Acted for a multinational bank in connection with revolving credit facilities extended to a commercial REIT;
  • Acted for various local and international banks in connection with the extension of credit facilities to several government-linked co-operative societies and statutory boards;
  • Acted as Singapore legal adviser to a leading global financial institution in connection with the Singapore security package for an over US$4 billion syndicated loan facility extended to a global insurance and reinsurance broker;
  • Acted for United Overseas Bank Limited in part-financing the acquisition of the assets and liabilities of SGX-listed Jackspeed Corporation Limited by its CEO; and
  • Acted as Singapore counsel to a Singapore branch of a major Japanese bank in connection with a JPY19 billion real estate financing for an offshore fund’s acquisition of properties in Japan.
