Deborah Wong is a partner in the banking and finance practice. She acts for and advises financial institutions and borrowers on a range of domestic and cross-border transactions, including those relating to real estate financing and acquisition financing.

Matter Experience


  • Acting for the lender to part-finance the S$338 million acquisition by the borrower of Changi City Point retail mall;
  • Acting for the original lender in the syndicated part-financing of a S$429 million acquisition by the borrower of a land parcel at Lentor Gardens by way of Government Land Sale;
  • Acting for a syndicate of lenders in the S$115 million refinancing of a property loan secured by a 4-star hotel in Orchard Road Singapore;
  • Acting for the lender in the S$560 million refinancing of a property loan secured by a shopping mall in District 13 in Singapore;
  • Acting for the lender in part-financing the S$113 million acquisition by the borrower of the land parcel at Tampines North by way of Government Land Sale;
  • Acting for an SGX-listed borrower in it is financing for the acquisition of an established engineering firm in Singapore with projects including Marina Bay Sands and Jewel Changi Airport
  • Acting for the lender in financing the repurchase of motor vehicles by Lion City Rental, in accordance with the redemption of notes;
  • Acting for the lender in part-financing the acquisition of a 5-star hotel in New Zealand;
  • Acted for the lender in the granting of acquisition and development loan facilities for a cold-chain food logistics facility jointly developed by Commonwealth Capital, Kokubu Group Corporation and Japanese construction firm Kajima Corporation;
  • Acting for the lender in relation to the financing of Woh Seng Holdings Pte Ltd’s acquisition of shares in Cheung Woh Technologies Ltd by way of a voluntary conditional offer; and
  • Acted for lenders in various property financing transactions involving properties in the UK, Australia and Indonesia.
